Part-Time Afternoon Childcare Assistant Teacher

The Learning Experience - Gainesville
Pay: $17–$19 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 2:00pm–6:00pm

About the Position

The Learning Experience is seeking a friendly, reliable Part-Time Assistant Teacher to join our team for afternoon coverage. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants a consistent weekday schedule in a positive, team-oriented daycare and preschool environment.

You’ll support classrooms during the busy afternoon hours, helping children transition through activities, play, and end-of-day routines in a safe and engaging setting.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist Lead Teachers with daily classroom activities and routines

  • Help carry out fun, age-appropriate learning activities and projects

  • Support children’s social, emotional, and early learning development

  • Help supervise play, snacks, clean-up, and transitions

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment

  • Communicate professionally with families and teammates

  • Float between infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms as needed

  • Follow all health, safety, and state childcare licensing guidelines

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting preferred

  • Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus

  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

  • Dependable, energetic, and enjoys working with young children

  • Must meet all state childcare licensing requirements
