About the Opportunity
Are you an experienced Infant or Toddler Teacher who loves helping young children reach their earliest developmental milestones?
The Learning Experience - Ashburn is hiring a caring, dependable Infant/Toddler Teacher to create a nurturing environment where our youngest learners feel safe, supported, and excited to explore.
We're looking for an educator who understands early childhood development, enjoys building strong relationships with families, and takes pride in providing responsive, individualized care.
From tummy time and sensory exploration to first words and growing independence, you'll help children develop the foundation for lifelong learning.
What You'll Do
- Provide attentive, responsive care for infants and toddlers throughout the school day
- Support feeding, diapering, safe sleep, toileting, and daily care routines as appropriate
- Implement The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum through developmentally appropriate learning experiences
- Engage children through sensory play, music, movement, early language, and hands-on exploration
- Support physical, cognitive, language, and social-emotional development
- Maintain consistent classroom routines that support each child's individual needs
- Observe developmental milestones and maintain classroom documentation
- Use positive behavior guidance and encourage early communication and independence
- Build trusting relationships and communicate regularly with families
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to maintain a positive classroom environment
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and nurturing classroom
- Follow Virginia childcare licensing, health, safety, and infant care requirements
Qualifications
- Previous professional experience working with infants or toddlers in a licensed childcare, daycare, or early childhood education setting required
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred, but not required
- Strong understanding of infant and toddler development and responsive caregiving
- Knowledge of safe sleep practices and age-appropriate care routines
- Experience implementing developmentally appropriate learning activities
- Patient, nurturing, dependable, and attentive to children's individual needs
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Must meet applicable Virginia childcare licensing, background screening, and regulatory requirements
